arrow  New Raw Living Foods Website Updated Daily

The expansion of the newsletter continues. All articles are now being posted to http://rawlivingfoods.typepad.com as they come to my attention, making it easier for me to assemble the newsletter when Saturday rolls around.

I used to say, "All the news that fits, we print." Now I can publish ALL the news; I just pick out the highlights for the weekly newsletter.

In addition, I've cut/copy/pasted almost two years of the newsletter archives into the new website, appropriately categorized. Now you don't have to dig through old issues of the newsletter on chiDiet.com; everything is organized by subject. As of today there are 497 articles online.

There's also been a major reorganization of the website since last weekend. The old links don't work now, but the link names will now be much shorter than they were. I've only had the website up for 21 days, so please bear with me as I sort it all out. In organizing 5,000 articles, recipes and images it's going to take me a while to get it right.

The secondary benefit of doing this is that I no longer have to concern myself with the size of the newsletter. It was running over 25 pages, yet I was leaving out material that I knew some would like to see. Now I can post all relevant material.

Numerous people have written and told me that they set their browser homepage to each week's version of the newsletter (chiDiet.com/news/current.htm). The new website at http://rawlivingfoods.typepad.com should be even better for that, since there are new articles being posted regularly throughout the week.

While the new website doesn't have full search capabilities yet, it's possible to do searches from within your browser. That and several other tips are posted online in the FAQ (frequently asked questions) page.

Here's another neat new feature: If you're using an RSS feed-capable webpage or homepage, you can now get our daily postings delivered directly to your RSS page as a news feed.

Another new feature is being able to get our new articles and postings delivered directly to your email box on a daily basis. Unchanged is being able to subscribe to this Saturday newsletter by visiting chiDiet.com/subscribe.htm.

For those that are into this kind of thing, yes, the new website is a "blog."

The Evolution of Wellness

The medical paradigm rests on the power of money to structure education and to shape naive young minds in the use of expensive drugs and high tech surgery to extract dollars from suffering, fearful people.  By corporate power disease, pain and fear are exploited mercilessly.  This is not to say that there is no good intent in the healing arts, but all can see the mammon driven motives.

More harm than good comes from corporate control of the casting of medical disease care for a cradle-to-grave dependency.  It is only in the failure of chemical control of disease that diet, exercise, and return to natural basis of health are now being wisely practiced.

In a way, minds are bound in slavery to the purposely-structured belief system that is the most pervasive, the most exploitive the world has ever seen.  The creation of health insurance builds high reserves of monies that doctors and hospitals could charge excessively against with impunity.

Overt slavery imposed against the will of the people is easier to fight than mind locked, imposed and perpetuated reality that is imposed from cradle to the grave.

Medicare, Medicaid and health care insurance formed the final control of the unprecedented paradigm and the profession that it so lavishly compensates is caught in rampant greed.

With government involvement the health industry is willing to inflate, inflate and inflate until collapse is the expected end of it all.  Studies show that medical care and the government has been the leading inflationary reality.

The people can return to the basis of Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Wellness that has sustained mankind for millions of  years and all biological life forms can be trusted to carry life forward when the interference with Nature stops.

Indeed, we see that power structures and money driven realities prove that "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Realizing that the foregoing can appear to be the rantings of a cynical mind, I must say that my work is and remains Natural Wellness of body, mind and spirit.

For a hundred years it has appeared that wise, directed, and beneficent ones would give the world a natural wellness care system and education that would establish Wellness as it ever is intended by the giver of life.

For over fifty years I have subscribed to and studied the inspired Wellness innovators - many of whom have published and practiced their findings in journals and practiced what they know works.  The problem is that even these inspired and diligent individuals one-by-one opt for some way to profit by their knowledge. The current ploy is to market supplements. Tempted to use their positions to get a piece of the fifty-four billion dollar market where the willing and prepared public spends freely, motivated by the claims.  I won't live long enough to see the end of the exploitations but, like many of the absurdities, the fall of the debt- and war-ridden system will come, and the whole exploitive system will collapse.

Preserving the many almost miraculous innovations of true science and development of Wellness techniques will not be lost and can be carried on without the motivation of greed for money and power.

In the Kingdom to come on the planet true benevolence will create Wellness as "Old Things pass away and we become new creatures" in spirit, heart, mind and body. The old things that pass away will be the unreality of corporate power now made superior to man and to God.  Amen.

By far and away this is the article that most caught my attention this week:

Many organizations including the cell phone industry often downplay the risk of cell phone radiation to the brain. Results from short-term studies were used to convince consumers that use of a cell phone is not associated with brain tumors or cancer, which only develop decades after exposure.

To be fair, no one knows exactly how much harm a cell phone can do to a person. However, recently new media has reported a study showing the radiation from cell phones is so full of energy they can be used to cook eggs: http://rense.com/general72/cellcook.htm.

Backsliding but progressing is NOT about feeling guilty about slipping. Even if you weren't 100% raw this week, how much better are you feeling than when you were on the SAD?

Getting Back on Track

In the 30 years that we've been teaching the Raw Living Foods / Dr. Ann Wigmore lifestyle at Creative Health Institute we've occasionally met someone that goes home from the program and stays 100% raw for the rest of their lives.

I'm so happy for them. For the rest of us, we set out very inspired, but the temptations of our comfort foods and society cause us to backslide.

Don't give up when that happens - it's perfectly normal. Instead, resolve to climb right back up that nutritional ladder. Bear these seven tips in mind when you do:

  1. Don't be hard on yourself - concentrate on your successes, not failures.
  2. Reset your system - do a water fast for a day or two (if medically safe for you).
  3. List your benefits - what are exercise and a healthy diet going to do for you? Write it down. Refer to your list when temptations strike.
  4. Give yourself goals - "one green smoothie a day" is a good start. "Lose 10 pounds" or "keep blood sugar at 150 or less" are other examples.
  5. Recommit yourself to your goals. Sharing your goals with another helps a lot.
  6. Be prepared to backslide again - every interesting journey has sidetrips. Enjoy the journey.
  7. Get coaching and support - go to raw food groups, find a raw coach or raw buddy or watch inspiring raw videos.

For me, “coaching and support” is the biggest challenge. Oh, I have lots of raw friends I can call on the phone, but to date I've done well in this part of Georgia interesting a handful of people in “one green smoothie a day.” I've had no success in putting together a Raw Potluck or other form of support group. Not yet, at least - it wasn't long ago I couldn't even share the smoothie idea around here.

So I watch videos - Victoria Boutenko is my favorite, but I've gone through the entire library of videos that we sell on chiDiet.com, several times each. Every time I watch them I learn new things, or recall information that I'd forgotten. Every time, I come away re-inspired. The video collection that we created at Creative Health is the best way I've found to stay raw, motivated and inspired.

Remember that Raw Foods are a lifestyle choice, not a religion!

arrow  Raw Living Food Recipes

Frozen Vanilla Bliss

This tastes very much like dairy soft serve ice cream, only better. Not only is it a great way to start your day but it also makes a healthy snack. Use more tahini if you are a bodybuilder or are trying to increase your (good) fat, protein and calorie intake. Bodybuilders might try 1 cup of water, 4 tablespoons of tahini and 2 frozen bananas. The addition of carob or other fruit works very well in this recipe - let your imagination run wild! If you prefer a sweeter drink, add one or two soaked dates, or a bit of maple syrup (which is not raw).

3/4 cup water
2 tablespoons raw tahini, or more to taste
1-2 frozen bananas, cut in chunks
Dash vanilla (optional)

In blender, combine water, tahini, banana and vanilla.
Blend until thick and smooth.
Serve immediately.
Serves 1

Now that Joe and Lamoy are in their new home, they have not one dollar to spend for reducing the debt for their bail.  Please put out another plea for donations. 

I already counsel people freely so cannot add that as a bonus; that free counseling is a given. 

The only bonus extra I can think of is for someone to come and spend the weekend at the International Hostel in Florida City, and I'll go out with them to the Biscayne Underwater National Park and we can have a whole bunch of hours of visiting in the water!
