You Know You're a Raw
Foodist When...
thanks to Jinjee at www.thegardendiet.com
...you can't STAND the smell of any kind of Fast Food no matter how delicious it's supposed to be, and you can detect who has just eaten a greasy burger by noticing the odor of Fast Food Ooze coming out of that person's skin.
...you follow advice or succumb to your own confusion and go off the raw path and your mind, body, and soul just sink upon doing so.
...you make sexy sounds when eating a mango.
...you're buying fruit and the cashier looks at you puzzled and then asks, "You ate all that fruit you bought yesterday?!"
...green juice is a food group .

86 Things That Help People
Stay RAW
by Michele
Tips that help us get and stay on a raw diet.
A few years ago I asked various people on the Internet what "little things" help them stay raw. I put in a few tips of my own, but this is from a number of helpful folks: curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=67&i=247.

Dr. Ann Wigmore's
"chi" Diet - Raw Foods Education at Home
- [chi - living energy; life force; the life energy of
food, and of the planet]
Now you can learn about the Living Foods Lifestyle without leaving home. Learn how to detoxify your body, what to eat, why to eat it, and how to prepare yummy raw food meals that leave you feeling full and satisfied. The Home Study version of the Wigmore Living Foods Lifestyle includes over 45 hours of video instruction and a comprehensive manual.
The Living Foods Lifestyle was developed by Dr. Ann Wigmore in the 1950's and refined over the years at Hippocrates Institute in Boston and Creative Health Institute in Michigan (formerly Hippocrates Institute of the Midwest, one of several founded by Dr. Ann). If you can't get away for a hands-on program, the home study alternative is available at www.chiDiet.com. There's so much material in the home study program - 15 lessons, 30+ videos, 350+ page handbook - that you'd have to spend at least a month at a place like Creative Health to learn as much. For detailed information visit chiDiet.com.
Examine the program for 30 days, and even if you elect to return it, keep the book Why Suffer?: How I Overcame Illness & Pain Naturally, by Dr. Ann Wigmore.

Backslider's
Corner
- by Jim Carey
One Big Green Smoothie a day is a great start... The rest will come with time.
This is a lifestyle choice, not a religion. Even if you're not eating 100% raw, how much better are you doing than you were on the SAD (Standard American Diet)? Eating outside of the program is nothing to feel guilty about.
-------------------------------------
In The News
(Battle Creek Enquirer) Trendy "raw food" diets, recently made popular by celebrities who seemingly eat nothing but celery and sprouts, probably stemmed from places like the Creative Health Institute: www.battlecreekenquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060227/NEWS01/602270313/1002.
Thanks to Jan Jensen for the following articles:
The USDA has a new program coming to a state near you. South Dakota has begun and so far the program is voluntary. Wisconsin's program is not. As of Jan. 1, if you have even one animal on your premises and are not registered, you would be subject to a $5000 fine. The plan is to register every property where even one 'livestock' animal is kept, 90 year old grandma with 4 chickens included: reliableanswers.com/patriot/?20060118.
(USDA) NAIS Key Components The NAIS will be established over time through the integration of three key components: premises identification, animal identification, and animal tracking: animalid.aphis.usda.gov/nais/subjects/animal_id/index.shtml.

Hands-On Raw Vegan Food Prep and Internal Cleansing Classes
Now is the time to visit Creative Health Institute and learn about Dr. Ann Wigmore's Raw Living Foods Lifestyle. This time of the year classes are small and intimate, tailored to your needs and challenges. Our new Program Director, Darcy Flynn, brings a contagious enthusiasm to the Institute!
We've been teaching the benefits of a plant-based diet for 29 years in an intensive, two-week hands-on program of health education and raw foods preparation. The testimonials of former CHI students speak volumes about the Dr. Ann Wigmore program that we teach - CreativeHealth.us/testimonials.htm. 80% of our guests get more from the program than they ever expected!
Some try to heal you with vitamins or herbs, others with drugs or surgery. But the Dr. Ann Wigmore program is different - We Don't Wait to get sick. The Wigmore diet tunes up your entire body, now, so you won't get sick in the first place!
The best way to get to know us it to come visit for an afternoon. Alternate Sundays we have a wonderful raw gourmet vegan buffet at 2:30 pm. Call us at (866) 426-1213 for dates. For driving directions and maps visit CreativeHealth.us/directions.htm.

Diabetes and Living Foods Research
My name is Aimee Perrin. I am a type 1 diabetic who has been on a raw/living food diet for 3 years in the hopes of discontinuing my need for insulin injections. I am currently researching the benefits of a raw food diet for type 1 as well as type 2 diabetic individuals. I, myself, have decreased my injected insulin from 22 total units per day on a low carb, high protein diet to 8 total units per day on a raw food diet, gradually achieved over 33 months raw.
I have been commissioned to write an article for the magazine Diabetes Health, a wonderfully balanced publication with an open-minded editor who is very interested in learning more about the benefits of the raw food lifestyle for diabetes.
I would like to hear from type 1 and type 2 diabetics who have good results on raw food concerning:
1. Weight loss;
2. Insulin reduction or completely getting off of injected insulin or other diabetic medications;
3. Improvement of any diabetic complications - vision problems, neuropathy, high cholesterol, blood pressure, skeletal problems.
I would love to communicate with you! (other diabetics or former diabetics on a raw food diet)
