A few thoughts about the stuff I’m seeing on the media lately. Normally I don’t watch the news or read newspapers because they cause undue stress and unnecessary paranoia.
But I’ve been unable to avoid the Pig Pflu Paranoia Phenomenon of late, if only because of all the email I’m receiving about it.
Four thoughts:
1) I know from experience that if you’re eating a healthy diet of Raw Living Foods that your body’s immune system will fight off illness, including influenza.
As Dr. Ann Wigmore said, the cause of dis-ease is toxemia and deficiency.
2) The Pig Pflu Paranoia is blowing out of proportion.
100 people died in car accidents yesterday in the US alone.
Someone dies every day in the US in a bathtub accident; two-thirds of the time it’s a woman.
But we still take baths and we still drive our cars. It’s a psychological phenomenon called “acceptable risk.” We know, at least unconsciously, the risks involved in driving a car, but because it’s familiar and convenient we repress the knowledge and drive anyway.
Something new and unfamiliar comes along, and with a little sensational, melodramatic reporting we fear it irrationally.
Your odds of winning the lottery this week are about the same as catching Pig Pflu. Maybe greater…
3) The paper masks I see people wearing as Pig Pflu Protectors are useless against influenza. They may be downright dangerous because they give a false sense of security.
4) This hysteria is a great way to divert attention away from the real issues – the economy, and the bailout scandal.
This suffices with the mass of the people who have no means of distinguishing the false from the true paragraphs of a newspaper.” –Thomas Jefferson to G. K. van Hogendorp, Oct. 13, 1785. (*) ME 5:181, Papers 8:632
Of course, when the same people own the newspapers as own Big Pharma and Big Agriculture, what do we get?

I keep hearing noise about mandatory swine flu vaccines. What will you do if they want to force you to take the vaccine? I know I don’t want to be shot up.

Hi Jim,
I eat a raw and living foods diet, am very healthy, workout 5 days a week, and I am right now dealing with having the h1n1. I have it and two of my children do. This is a terrible flu. The muscle aches and chills are unbearable. I feel like someone hit my back with a sledge hammer. My reply to you is that this is a virulent flu, even with my healthy diet and handwashing I still got it. I haven’t had the flu in years. Knowing now how easy it is to catch this, I still would not get the vaccine for this. But please don’t say that healthy people won’t get this. It seems like the healthiest and most germophobic people I know have contracted this.

The British and Danish government centers for disease have both said that Swine Flu is regular flu.

If it comes down to shot vs. incarceration, I don’t know which way I’ll go. It’s a shame we’d have to face such a fascist prospect in America, isn’t it? So much for Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.

I can’t believe the panic and paranoia being created by the media…many places even offering FREE flu shots – in this economy and cities in supposedly bad financial shape, how can they afford to push this? What important funding are they taking from? I believe the best defense is to maintain as strong an immune system as possible and keep a positive attitude. Use common sense and make rational decisions about your own body. The government of our “land of the free and home of the brave” is giving in to “peer” pressure…

I think everybody’s right: 1)This is paranoia and propaganda, 2)they are really being very pushy about taking either/both vaccinations, and Melissa is absolutely right that HEALTHY people are getting sick.
My niece is a nurse at one of the most famous hospitals in this country and they held a special meeting to prepare their staff. One of the most unnerving things being said was that this is attacking everyone – not just weak or sickly people but the very healthy. No one seems to be exempt from it.
Regardless of what decision a person makes for themselves, make it an intelligent and well informed one, as I’m sure we all will.
And each person’s decision can choose even to be a private one. At this point in time, I’m still holding to no vaccinations for either the regular flu or the swine flu. I’m hoping that it’s the right decision.
In some ways, isn’t everything just a ‘crap shoot’?
Wishing everyone well and the best of health..always.

Both of my kids haev had this flu and yet I still do not.
I believe the Whoop-la associated with the media is covering up the true consequences of having a “pandemic ” declared.
Get educated as soon as possible.. it goes something like this,
we need a war to declare the patriot act, we need a pandemic to enforce other steps all that will eventually erode the constitution and all the rights and protections that go with it.THE REAL REASON is way more scary than a virus.

Fear can do as much damage to ones body as the virus. Do as much as you can to follow the natural laws of health (proper nutrition, regular excercise, pure water, daily sunlight, temperance, fresh air, sufficent rest and trust in God).

I don’t usually stop to write a comment, but it is difficult to find actual thoughts on this subject today. You did a lovely job in this blog post and I am going to look at the rest of your blog. Keep up the good work!
