Thank you for sharing the video of Dr. Ann regarding sprouting. I notice that she has an accent. Can you tell me where she is from, originally? I am just curious.

This sure whets the appetite to learn more from Dr. Ann. :-) I never knew that alfalfa was high in protein. So much to learn!!!

Thank you for sharing this, Jim.

Nice video! Thanks for putting this on the web.

To answer Ricki’s question, Ann Wigmore was from Lithuania.

  6. Les Kobiernicki Says:

All good sound advice, but the sound is terrible – could it be cleaned up ? And it breaks off in mid-stride too .. A good solid lady with lots of sense & very helpful too – much in accordance with my own understanding, though with this level of advice, it should all be known far more widely – not just in the US of A – if there are more of these vids, could they all perhaps be put on a CD or DVD, and turned into an .ISO file, readily downloadable and burnable by all who love healthy food ? Just a little thought ..

  7. Jim Carey Says:

    Les,

They’re available on DVD through chiVideos.com, Les, and online at RawLife.org.

As far as making them .ISO files, we’re talking about TB of data here. Even on RawLife.org I had to de-rez them to flash video and mpeg because the original .AVI files run about 50 GB each. Few people have the bandwidth to download files that big.

Then there’s the issue of hosting costing a fortune every month. I host 4 TB of video files and serve up 45 TB of data monthly, just as mpeg and flash.

So, yes, the DVDs are much higher quality than online video.

Re: the sound. I salvaged these from old VHS tapes. The sound via DVD is quite a bit better, but it’s hard to “fix” what wasn’t recorded very well in the first place. These versions are, of course, low resolution for internet transmission and that shows in the sound quality.

I’m working on transcripts of all of the Dr. Ann videos. I have transcripts of two of Dr. Ann’s movies done so far. Check RawLife.org; they’re posted there.

The material is presented here for historical reasons, and I wish it was of better quality.

Thanks for your comments; I’m working on them.

  8. Geo Says:

The two parts that interested me most were the ones with no sound.. I was interested in how she rinces the sprouts and how she makes rejuvalac. Anyone know of another way to get that info? Thanks!

  9. Jim Carey Says:

Rinsing the sprouts is just about filling the jar with water, slosh a bit, and drain.

For rejuvelac info go to http://rawlife.org or http://rawdoctors.com and search for “rejuvelac.” You’ll find videos and text instructions.

    Thanks!

  10. Ben Says:

I love Ann Wigmore and her legacy is just incredible. I will say that videos like this for someone getting started in sprouting can be very confusing. She jumps around alot and there are so many sprouting options that it is hard to keep them all straight. This would be an excellent companion video to her Sprouting Book because between the two you would get all the pertinent information and the joy of hearing and seeing Ann in her element. Thanks for putting this up. It is most appreciated.

  11. Jim Carey Says:

    That’s a great suggestion, Ben.
